Homenagem Brasileira Benefit Concert in Oakland May 20, 2014 

Since opening its doors in 2007, ARISE High School, a small charter school in East Oakland, California, is part of the Coalition of Essential Schools network. ARISE serves 240 students in grades 9-12, with a focus on preparing students from low income families to be the first in their families to attend college.

Sandy Cressman and Homenagem Brasileira featuring Jeff Cressman on trombone will play a benefit concert for ARISE, preceded by a Reception, on May 20 at the Lakeside Theater at the Kaiser Center in Oakland.  Come out and support ARISE and enjoy beautiful Brazilian Jazz.... for details, click EVENTS.

Sandy's new collaboration CD project kickoff! 

Sandy's new recording project "Entre Amigos" was kicked off with a concert at the Emerald Tablet sponsored by Jazz in the Neighborhood, featuring pianist Jovino Santos Net, with Celso Alberti on drums, David Belove on bass and Jeff Cressman on trombone.  The concert was followed by a recording session for the first tune of the CD, a collaboration between Sandy and Jovino, "Para Hermeto".  Stay tuned for more news of this project!
