I'm happy to announce the dates for the next round of Vocal Workshops:

Sunday, April 18
 Canta Brasil Part 1 10:00 am-2:00 p.m. $60
 Canta Brasil Part 2 2:30 pm- 5:30 p.m. $50
This 4 hour intensive will explore the roots of the bossa nova and samba, including rhythmic grooves, phrasing, vocal percussion, language and performance. A history of the development of the bossa nova with listening examples will be provided. The workshop will be very interactive, with group and solo opportunities. We will explore the musical details that will help your bossa novas and sambas sound Brazilian, to make them some of the favorites in your vocal jazz repertoire.

Sunday, May 2
ConnectedVoice Basic 12:00 pm-2:00 p.m. $45
includes ConnectedVoice Exercise CD
ConnectedVoice Application 2:30-4:30 p.m. $35
pre-requisite is CV Basic
The class will cover the principles of ConnectedVoice technique for Voice Development and Ear Training. I will explain how to create your own workout using the CD, the principles and purposes of the exercises. The Application class is for those who have had Basic before, to learn how to apply the technique to songs.

Sunday, May 23 Jazz Vocal Harmony 1:00-4:00 p.m. $50
Learn to sing close jazz harmony like "Pastiche"
prerequisite: must have basic music reading skills--music will be sent to participants in advance along with part recordings.
